ORIENTATION: nothing to look forward to really. the lady who oriented us was the same lady who interviewed me. somehow i feel like i owe her a lot. it was her who got me this job afterall. we were given our security cards so we can open doors and log in. the kind where you flash it in some laser thingy so you get to open a door. we also use it to log in. the "modern time card." also, lots of paperworks. we filled up the data security forms, training agreements, tin, pag-ibig, philhealth, lifeline insurance and the likes. the agreement stated that we were to undergo training for five weeks. and that we're only allowed to absent once or else, you pay 10,000 pesos. alteast the "bond" was not as high as what the other call center required. payday will be every after 10 working days and will be distributed through our atms. also, we're not "officialy hired." we still have to pass the training and ojt. we have to observe the company dress code. this i don't really understand. i mean, we're only there to answer calls so what's with the formality? it has to be closed shoes. sandals, open-toe slip ons are allowed as long as they have backstraps. the reason? "the caller at the end of the line might hear the flip-flop sound that it makes." okkkayyyyy... schedule's a bit tight. it's from 7am to 3pm. but on the third week shifting comes in and it would be from 11pm to 7am. shoot!
i love my workplace. i love the building. but i just have to complain about the air-conditioning. god! mga balat kalabaw mga tao don? i mean, it's FREEZING there. as in. everyone gets to have spill-proof mugs. they have nescafe coffee dispensers there so coffee is flowing like crazy. the pantry is so nice and comfy. the company really encourages its employees to bring their own lunch. you can put it in the ref and reheat in the microwave oven. but there are lalso caterers there that sell meals for forty bucks. the recreation room is my favorite. they have billiard tables, guitars, sleep mattresses on the floor, comfy sofas everywhere. landline and cellphone calls are free. for long distance calls, you just have to inform your trainer and that's it.
